The wine is made from mekuja variety which covered the central part of the island of Hvar a hundred years ago. Due to the uprooting of some vineyards and replacing them with other varieties, mekuja had become endangered and it can rarely be found on the island these days. There are approximately two to three thousand grape vines left altogether. Mekuja is medium-bodied wine with a pleasant fruity bouquet. We produce about 400 bottles a year and they are exclusively served at Huljic vinoteque.
